Gamefish Species:

Largemouth & Smallmouth Bass

Cross Lake gets its name from its general shape - the product of several long, narrow bays that offer great cover and structure for bass - both largemouth (25%)
and smallmouth (75%). In the weeds, along the fast-breaking rocky shorelines, down the breaklines, off points, and under blowdowns, bass abound.

Cross Lake is a "numbers" lake, but occasionally produces some big bass. Remote and unspoiled, the lake is a perfect spot for a secluded campsite, hiking, outdoor photography or wildlife viewing. The area abounds with whitetail deer, beaver, birdlife and beautiful wildflowers - even a few species uncommon elsewhere in Ontario.
A short walk from Cross Lake is a tiny lake (known locally as Myrtle Lake) rumored to offer some incredible bass fishing. From yet another part of Cross Lake, a trail winds its way to Ely Lake, another tiny, untried bass lake. Now that sounds like a challenge - maybe a unique opportunity!
