Gamefish Species:

Smallmouth Bass & Walleye

Smallies & wallies - for many anglers, the perfect combination of Ontario gamefish. And Duck Lake has plenty of both. This rocky lake, with islands, shoals and fast-breaking points is ideally suited for both popular species. At times, the walleye fishing can be fast & furious, with some fish being caught from shore at the campsite. However, when walleyes are a bit fussier, twistertail jigs and snelled, live-bait rigs will still produce walleyes. Just as likely to show up on your line are the lake's abundant smallmouth bass - fish which average a very respectable 1-1/2/ to 2 pounds

Try the traditional bass tactics and tackle - plastic worms, crankbaits and minnow-imitating plugs - for Duck Lake smallmouth.

The Duck Lake campsite is located on a small, picturesque island and has a fire pit and picnic table. Surrounding this isolated lake is a mature forest of white pine, home to abundant wildlife.

Easily accessible from Duck Lake is Four Bear Lake, another brimmin'-with-bass back lake - and certainly deserving of some of your fishing time while in this neck of the woods. The smallmouth bass here average a solid 2 pounds - respectable no matter where you fish !
