This long, narrow lake with many back bays is a fly-in lake but can also be reached via a walking trail from a NW section of Island Lake.  An aluminum boat is cached on the lake for guest use and a campsite is available to campers / canoeists / anglers. Taking a small outboard across the portage, while demanding, will allow anglers to concentrate on
the great fishing.

Accessed (with some difficulty) from Island Lake, Kelsie Lake offers outstanding largemouth bass fishing for the adventurous angler. Fishing the shorelines at Kelsie didn't produce near the number or quality of bass that were caught in the back bays, weedy sections, and out from beaver lodges.

In the bright of day, however, bass were relating to obvious shoreline cover and averaged from 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 pounds, although bigger fish (to 4-1/2 pounds) are frequently caught at Kelsie. This pristine lake is ideal for a fly-in day trip, camping, canoeing, observing wildlife and/or outdoor photography
